COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri baseball racked up 12 hits to cruise to a 9-1, series-clinching win over Tarleton State on Saturday afternoon at Taylor Stadium.
10 different Tigers picked up a hit and seven drove in runs as Mizzou (8-1) ambushed the Tarleton (3-7) pitching staff early and often. Junior Torin Montgomery and senior Tre Morris each drove in two runs to pace the Tigers at the plate.
On the mound, sophomore Austin Troesser (3-0) continued his red-hot start to the season with five strong innings to earn the win. The right-hander scattered three hits, allowing just one run on a solo homer, to earn his third win of the year.
IMPACT INNING
Mizzou jumped on the Texans from the onset as a hit-by-pitch and walk set the Tigers up early. Coach Bieser on sealing the series…
“Definitely a good win for the ballclub. We bounced back, I thought we played a solid game, nine innings and we were able to get some pitchers in there. Really good to see Drew Garrett and Trae Robertson come out and really throw the stuff that they've got and have a successful inning right there. So, you know pleased with everybody's effort today.”
