Came back from covering an event in Detroit today, where I connected with Oak Park, Mich., 2020 WR/TE Maliq Carr. Now, I've been familiar with Maliq since last summer. He has early offers from Kentucky and Syracuse, but today I noticed he was wearing a Mizzou shirt. I asked him if he had visited Mizzou, were they recruiting him, etc. and he said no, his dad coaches at Missouri. As I looked again I realized it was a Mizzou basketball shirt. His dad is Cornell Mann. I had no idea.
Carr is a legit Power 5 kid in that 2020 class. Already 6-5, 205, he plays WR right now but will likely grow into a TE. He said Missouri football is not recruiting him yet, but he's definitely someone to watch in that 2020 class with a connection like that.
