If you hate Barry then don’t read.. I’m not saying he should have been kept.. in just stating factual information and make of it what you wish... and it will all be pointed towards Kelly Bryant and partially so but we now know there was a reason he got benched at Clemson with NFL weapons galore and he could only muster 15 touchdowns in 18 games as a starter at Clemson. (That hurts I read looking back)

Take out the blue blood/traditional teams that are usually top 10/15 programs yearly.
OU replaces Haskins with another 4/5 star. Penn state replaces McSorley with Clifford. Auburn replaces Stidham with a 4/5 star. Oklahoma replaces Murray with Hurts.

we aren’t on the level of those schools so no surprise they could supplant their QB with a very worthy candidate and not drop off.

Now let’s look at programs that are much more realistic to compare to us.

Washington State went from 11 wins to 6 after losing Minshew

Duke went from 8 wins to 5 after losing Daniel Jones

NC State went from 9 to 4 after losing Ryan Finley

West Virginia went from 8 to 5 after losing Grier

Northwestern went from 9 to 3 after losing Clayton Thorson

Exactly ZERO of those coaches were fired (Holgersen left for Houston)

Odom goes from 8 to 6 and he’s canned. He wasn’t good.. we should have won more. But it seems every school has been understanding and patient with the idea of losing an NFL quarterback might make you worse and allow you to find the right guy (Bazelak/Robinson could’ve been that guy).

I think we should’ve fired Dooley and roll the dice another year. Odom won the most games tied with Leach to a coach who lost a QB in the NFL draft. I’m only looking at teams whose QB was actually drafted not just graduated.
