FOOTBALL RECRUITING
New Commit:
***Missouri picked up their latest commitment from Clear Springs (Tex.) defensive lineman Serigne Tounkara on Thursday. This came on the heels of the three-star's official visit with the Tigers this past weekend. The 6-foot-3, 240-pound prospect has held an offer from Missouri since May with both Kevin Peoples and Blake Baker serving as his primary contacts. He also held notable offers from Oregon State, TCU, Houston, Ole Miss, and SMU.

New 2023 offers:
Jordon Harris, TE, Pine Bluff (Ark.) - The 6-foot-7, 230-pound tight end was on campus over the weekend and has been talking to tight ends coach Erik Link for a while. Harris' stock has slowly risen throughout the fall after garnering offers Air Force, Bowling Green, and South Florida - he now has SEC offers from Missouri and Vanderbilt. The Tigers made a great impression on Harris, who doesn't have any other visits planned currently but is getting interest from Washington, Cal, and Kansas.
Carson Morgan, ATH, Bentonville-West (Ark.) - Morgan recently committed to Air Force and is a talented two-way player, flourishing at both running back and linebacker. Morgan told us that Missouri hasn't specified what side of the ball they like him on, RB/slot or OLB/edge, but he is very interested in the Tigers and is in the process of setting up a visit with the staff. He's been talking with wide receivers coach Jacob Peeler for about a month now.
****2023 OL target Jayden Hobson was another notable visitor that was on Missouri's campus last weekend. The current Southern Miss commit just picked up an offer from the Tigers earlier this month and got to spend some quality time with the coaches before the Vanderbilt game. The 6-foot-6, 296-pound prospect definitely likes Missouri but will likely see who else jumps in the picture in the next month as Florida State, Miss State, and Auburn are also expressing interest.
HOBSON RECAPS MIZZOU TRIP
***Missouri was able to get one of their priority 2024 targets in Jeremiah McClellanback on campus over the weekend as well. Always a good sign as the four-star, Rivals250 prospect continues to stockpile offers with Texas, Texas A&M, and Ohio State being his most recent. The Tigers got in very early with McClellan and that will help their cause moving forward because they will have to fight off a plethora of blue blood programs. McClellan's teammate Jeremiyah Love, just committed to Notre Dame, so that's another program that is making a strong push for the talented wideout out of CBC.
***One to keep an eye on: We're hearing Mizzou might be picking up momentum with Louisiana receiver (and University of Louisiana commit) Daniel Blood. Mizzou is his only Power Five offer right now, though other schools are definitely poking around.
**One of the offers to come out of the visits last weekend was Arkansas tight end Jordon Harris. He's a prospect the Tigers have been monitoring for a while that's flown a little bit under the radar. Now that he's picked up an SEC offer, he is likely to get a lot more attention.
**Everybody wants to know how many more Missouri will take. We checked with some sources on that this week. The answer? "We'll take as many good players as we can find. It will work itself out." There aren't a lot of four-stars left out there, but if Missouri finds guys it thinks can help, this class can still get close to 25. It just depends on how many of those guys are out there. The scholarship limit is always flexible, but it's even more so for another couple of years until the COVID year of eligibility goes away.
**Wanted to drop a note on basketball recruiting. We're entering the slow period for that right now. Coaches and recruits are getting ready for the start of the season. We're not expecting any visitors in the next week or so. Once games start, that could change depending on players' schedules. The early signing period is November 9 and we expect all three current commitments to sign with the Tigers during that period. The rest of the 2023 class is likely focused more on junior college players and/or transfers in the spring signing period. And, like football, a lot of that will depend on how many guys on the current roster return. As far as the high school players go, 2024 and 2025 are the main focus at this point in time for us.
