We are proud to welcome Billiards on Broadway back for another year as our partner and the presenting sponsor of the juiciest dish on PowerMizzou. If you're looking for the inside scoop on Mizzou recruiting, The Chamber is the place. If you're looking for the best burger in Columbia, Billiards on Broadway is your go-to. A great place to watch a game, play some pool and pair a great local beer selection with one of Columbia's best meals. Local sports, Local beer, Local food--all under one roof at Billiards!

FOOTBALL RECRUITING

- Missouri will host Vanderbilt on Saturday in hopes of starting their season 4-0 and 1-0 in league play. With their first SEC game of the season on deck, the Tigers are expected to host a handful of notable visitors from the 2025 & 2026 classes, here is a breakdown below:

COMMITS:

Shaun Terry
Henry Fenuku
Jack Lange

2025 TARGETS:

- Savoury has been committed to Michigan State since June 17th and is the third 2025 TE target Missouri has hosted so far this season. The Tigers had Dakotah Terrell on campus for the Buffalo win and Nebraska commit Jeremiah Jones was back on campus last weekend for the BC win.

Like Terrell and Jones, Savoury was also a late summer offer for Missouri after the Tigers missed on their original targets (Chase Loftin, Brody Lennon) during the summer.

2026 TARGETS:

- The No. 2 prospect in the 2026 class is expected back on campus this weekend. Cantwell started his fall gameday tour at Nebraska back on September 7th and is expected to visit Georgia and Alabama (when they play Missouri) in October and LSU in November.

Cantwell was last on Mizzou's campus back in March for spring practice, another visit to campus is always a good thing as the Tigers want to stay in his top group. He is obviously going to be the headliner here. It's been thought to be Mizzou and Georgia a bit ahead of the back for a while, but he's taking a lot of visits and will take a lot more so it's a little soon to start eliminating anyone from the race quite yet. But the Tigers will put their best foot forward this weekend.

- Best camped at Missouri and picked up an offer from the Tigers back in June. The four-star just visited Oklahoma, who is making a strong push. Ole Miss, Texas A&M, and Texas are some of his other notable offers.

- A Rivals250 wide receiver has been communicating a lot with Mizzou's staff and likes their offensive scheme and explosive plays their wide receivers make. Robinson has clocked 10.44 in the 100 meters and tallied 46 catches and had 1,038 all-purpose yards in just 8 games in 2023.

- Harris is coming off a visit to Illinois, but he's also plenty familiar with Missouri as well with multiple visits under his belt already. We recently caught up with Harris in St. Louis, who said Missouri is among the schools recruiting him the hardest right now. Missouri was the first school to extend an offer to Harris and so far that is holding a lot of weight in his recruiting process.

NEBRASKA COMMIT JEREMIAH JONES BACK AT MIZZOU
BIG TEN WR COMMIT PLANNING RETURN VISIT TO MIZZOU

FLIP WATCH

There are two current commits we are keeping an eye on. As we posted last night, we've gotten information that three-star Alabama safety Dyllon Williams is on alert for a switch to Kentucky. Mizzou sources still feel pretty good and it seems he's saying the right things to the staff, but we believe a flip is still a strong possibility. Missouri will try to hold on to him. It's not a situation where he's been pushed out. We'll see how it goes.

The other one people have been watching is Lamont Rogers, who visited Texas A&M for the season opener against Notre Dame. Rogers doesn't do much public talking, but we checked around this week and there hasn't been much change here. Even before he made a commitment we told you this one would go down to the wire. Getting him was a lot better than not getting him, but was no assurance you would keep him. That's still the case. Missouri feels reasonably confident here, but certainly not comfortable because they've known--like everyone else has--they were in for a battle all the way till December. If anything changes, we'll keep you up to date.

BASKETBALL RECRUITING

As Drew King first reported a couple of days ago, Mizzou will host Keiner Asprilla, the No. 41 player in the 2026 class, on an official visit this weekend. To be honest, this one kind of came out of nowhere. No idea what to make of Missouri's chances right now. We'll try to find out more after the trip.

Asprilla will be the only official visitor in town. Jalen Harlason was scheduled to make it but earlier this week he cancelled remaining trips. The in-state schools were always going to be tough to beat for Haralson and it appears he's going to play somewhere a little closer to home. Missouri felt good about this recruitment and I'd guess will still try to stay involved and see if it can get him to campus at some point, but right now, that doesn't seem likely.

However, there will be another prospect on campus. 2027 Webster Groves star Scottie Adkinson will be making a return trip. Obviously there's a long way to go in this one and we'll have to see how things develop on both sides, but Adkinson is making a habit of trips to Columbia already. Speaking of 2027 players, we're hearing encouraging things about Chase Branham. He's already been on campus a couple of times and the family is full of long-time Mizzou fans. The Tigers will have to show improvement on the court, but they're making a good early impression in this one.

Let's do a quick previous visitor check. Things could not have gone much better with 2026 Arkansas standout JJ Andrews. The No. 21 player in that class has upcoming visits to Arkansas and LSU. People in Arkansas are pretty sure he'll be a Razorback. People outside of Arkansas have serious doubts that the case. We like Mizzou's positioning here, but we'll see what comes out of his other trips.

Drew also caught up with 2026 forward Sheek Pearson, who was in town last week. Also, ICYMI in 2026, Imahri Wooten, a four-star from Connecticut, has an official visit coming up in early October.

We'll finish up with the 2025 class. Aaron Rowe is already a part of it. It will be a shock if Nicholas Randall doesn't join him. The hope for the third spot is Davion Hannah, who recently visited and then cancelled a good number of his upcoming trips. We are told Hannah did not make his Wisconsin trip last weekend and we don't believe he's going to Ohio State and Michigan State the next two weeks as originally scheduled. Obviously that could change and we'll let you know if we hear it does, but as of today, we don't think those visits will happen. That's a great sign for Mizzou. At No. 27 overall, Hannah is a borderline five-star, McDonald's all-American type. If you get him along with a couple of local supporting players in the class, then you turn your attention to 2026 and the portal. We aren't quite in future cast territory with Hannah, but we hear great things about where Missouri sits with him.

Until next week...or at least until we have more information.

Lamont rogers is the commit that makes me feel that mizzou is now big time. Of coarse, Andrew b. or cantwell would enhance that feeling.

@GabeD On Rogers, was he mentioned as a reminder that he was always going down to the wire and not the firmest of commitments, or is a decommit/flip feeling even more likely than before?

Have we tried simply asking Lamont Rodgers nicely not to flip?
We haven’t. I think the difference maker here, if we are serious about locking him down would be if someone could pen a very thoughtful open letter. I can’t do it today. I’m too busy monitoring Gabe’s personal emails and the bidding war between On3 and 247.

For those who didn't see it, the Wisconsin 247 guy reported that Mizzou has a $1.2 million offer out to Davion Hannah. And that is his best NIL offer at the moment
I saw that as well, but I'd take it with a massive grain of salt. From what we can tell, Gates and staff have balked at anything close to those numbers in the past. And this report came out only from Wisconsin right around when Hannah canceled his trip to Wiscy. Reads way too much like "he canceled his visit because Mizzou is throwing around stupid NIL numbers." It might be true. But it also might be a convenient story for losing a visit to a top target originally from Wisconsin.

That said, even if Mizzou offered something remotely close, it says a lot about the continued health of hoops NIL. And those sorts of rumors floating around will open a lot of doors to elite talent. It's also good to see so much local talent coming up in the next few classes. You could fill solid rosters without leaving the STL and KC metro areas, plus rural MO/Arky over the next few years.

I asked about him yesterday. It's a C.Y. offer, and C.Y. offers a lot of kids. Not sure how serious it is, working to find out. Gillespie had a good year playing on the UAA circuit averaging 16.7 ppg. He's going to reclassify to 2026 and will play for OTE this year. Only other high-major offer is Georgia Tech, he took an unofficial there last weekend.

I'm guessing it would be $1.2M over 3-4 years, which is definitely not a number Mizzou would balk at.

I know the response will be ‘we post the info we have”.

However, it would be good to hear any thoughts on which way Andrew Babalola might be leaning?

We should ask the Mizzou 247 guy if he’s heard that too.

Crazy to ask a question you answered in your post

"We aren't quite in future cast territory with Hannah, but we hear great things about where Missouri sits with him."

What about Crystal Ball territory?? 🤔 Asking for a friend.

Why do i feel like his commitment has been imminent for 2 months yet we haven't heard anything?
Because he rarely communicates where he’s leaning.

That’s why I asked if there were any thoughts.

Other than MLZ, everyone was capable of understanding.
