Wow! This could end up being a real cluster f*ck.

With 16 teams in the league and no divisions...and very likely multiple ties for second or even first...this could end up being a nightmare for the league.

Wonder if halfway through the league schedule...they will have an "SEC playoff committee" actually name their rankings ala the NCAA's past playoff committee format?

The old playoff committee really had no concrete formula that I could find...and without specific criteria or formulas...and without using any type of computer rankings...the "eye test" is going to be huge....so just winning a game might not always be enough...strength of schedule and margin of victories will almost certainly come into play.

What if there are three undefeated teams? What if an undefeated Mizzou team gets left out (ala FSU last year)?

What if an 11-1 Mizzou team gets jumped by two 10-2 teams?

Making two divisions of 8 teams...and increasing the SEC schedule from eight games to nine makes the most sense for the future in order to avoid the fiasco...but even then...you can end up with the argument that one division is considerably weaker than the other...or that one team's two cross-over games were much easier.

Also...the increase to a 9-game SEC schedule would likely knock some SEC teams out of the 12-team Playoff...because the overall records wouldn't be as good...there would be a slew of teams with 3 or more losses.

I don't have a good solution...do any of you?
