UT Jr ran up the score on us last year, and it would have been nice to make it just as lop-sided. But I think holding them to 7 points and beating them by 4 TD’s was good enough.
But this is what makes it different .. and better. Mizzou had already lost 4 games going into the Tennessee game last year. So while it pissed me off that Heupel ran up the score, it didn’t really matter all that much because we weren’t really playing for anything by that point.
But Tennessee still had everything in front of them today. A win over Missouri and they would have still had a chance at the SEC championship game if they could slip by Georgia. They had hope. And we got to be the team that smashed their hope instead of Georgia. And we did it in epic fashion.
You could see it on their players’ faces and on Heupel’s face as the clock ticked down in the 4th Qtr. That just made the win that much more satisfying.
