It's a two-screen kind of night. I'll be flipping back in forth between a bunch of games (possibly including Spurs vs. Thunder, aka Wemby vs. Chet Part II - I'll spare y'all my comments on that game though).
Here's a quick rundown on tonight's matchups:
- No. 9 Duke vs. No. 18 Michigan State - Tuesday, Nov. 14 - 6 p.m., ESPN
This game doesn’t have any Mizzou ties to it, it’s just one I want to see for the thrill of it. Wouldn’t it be something if the Spartans bounced back from their overtime loss to James Madison by taking down the Blue Devils?
- No. 4 Marquette at No. 23 Illinois - Tuesday, Nov. 14 - 7 p.m., FS1
The Fighting Illini brought back
Terrence Shannon,
Coleman Hawkins and
Dain Dainja this year and are expected to be a tough out again this season. Freshman guard
Dra Gibbs-Lawhorn looked sharp in his debut with a game-high 18 points against Eastern Illinois. He seems like someone who could take over as the starting point guard by the time the Braggin’ Rights game rolls around, especially since head coach
Brad Underwood decided to redshirt
Sencire Harris. Marquette’s a juggernaut returning almost everybody, but I wouldn't rule out Illinois at home.
- No. 1 Kansas vs. No. 17 Kentucky - Tuesday, Nov. 14 - 8:30 p.m., ESPN
Missouri’s slated to face both of these teams down the line, so it’s a good one to keep your eye on. The Jayhawks obviously have three returning starters, Michigan transfer big man
Hunter Dickinson and highly-rated freshman forward
Elmarko Jackson — the preseason No. 1 ranking is understandable. The Wildcats are a little banged up at the moment but have a handful of dynamite rookies that are bound to end up in the NBA next year. It’s a big test for both sides.
