I didn’t comment last night. I was at the game, and then came home to watch a replay i had recorded.
From the players side all could be singled out as being very important to the win. Frank and Hansen scored the most and biggest points. They also played intense team defense and rebounded very well. I thought Williams played her best game as a tiger. She played solid defense and got a lot of key rebounds. She worked very well in the high post with screens and passes. Once she had the ball up high, and Hayley F was behind her open, I thought give her the ball and then I could here several in the crowd saying what i was thinking. She gave it to Haley and she netted a long 3.
I think there’s a reason Haley T plays big minutes, and is almost always on the court at the end. She’s a coach on the floor, she drives and dishes, and doesn’t let mistakes get her down.
The two subs made very important defensive and rebounding plays. They are going to be very good players in the future, and are already pretty darn good.
Last, Mama Dembele was amongst our most valuable players. Her ability to bring the ball up the court against pressure really is important, and relieves her teammates of that responsibility. She’s super quick on defense and causes some real problems for opponents.
The coaching staff really prepared the team, and kept them fighting until the end. They emptied their tanks for the coaches.
