We're all pretty well versed on high school recruiting; official visits, unofficial, dead periods, etc. What are the complexities with portal entries? They're still enrolled at their university and have to finish classes right? They can't just start touring other campuses during finals week. So how does it work when a coach wants to recruit a portal entry?
And a scary thought, would it be shocking if a professor was greasing an athlete through. But then that athlete entered the portal and the professor drops a hammer on his grades? I'm honestly surprised we haven't heard of it yet. We've all seen schools like Evansville refuse to sign off on a transfer.
