I know we all look at everything after a loss like yesterday and throw blame around in pretty much every conceivable direction, but the defense the past couple years is mind blowing. How has it reached this level of terrible? The fact that Odom had such a good defense when he was DC makes it hard to understand. I know recruiting is the easy answer here and I'm sure it plays a major part, but this is more than just recruiting. This has been a fundamental failure. We're not talking about a bad defense right now. We're talking about a defense that let's every team have a chance to set school records every time it goes out. It doesn't seem to matter what quarterback a team even has in there. If that guy can even throw a little bit, it's basically an automatic 30 points. That is what I just can't wrap my head around. It just appears that we are truly clueless from the coaches down on how to game plan and defend any team that isn't trash offensively.
