I see that the number of WR on the commit list seems to be a hot topic. So I took a look at the future (my projected) depth chart to see when we might run into any issues. I put names in bold that have not played D1 ball yet.
2018 Depth Chart
WR1 - Hall (SR), Brown (SR)
SLOT - JJ (JR), Floyd (JR)
WR2 - Davis (FR), Ballard (SO)
Notes - I wouldn't be surprised to see Jalen Knox shed the shirt and get some time in the slot. We need at least one of the newcomers to be able to produce from day 1. Either that or Nate Brown replaces J'Mon Moore and all the newcomers are backups year 1.
2019 Depth Chart
WR1 - Davis (SO), Ballard (JR)
SLOT - JJ (SR), Floyd (SR)
WR2 - Kam Scott (FR/SO), Danny Gray (FR/SO)
Notes - Davis and Ballard will have solidified a role on the depth chart by then (or not, and they won't and someone else will have gotten some looks). I think Kam Scott and Danny Gray are the top prospects to step into the Emanuel Hall role. There will also be a handful of 2019 kids in the fold as well.
2020 Depth Chart
WR1 - Davis (JR), Ballard (SR)
SLOT - Jalen Knox (SO/JR), Gicinto (SO)
WR2 - Kam Scott (SO/JR), Danny Gray (SO/JR)
Notes - Khmari Thompson will also be in the fold as a RS SO most likely. Then you have the 2019 and 2020 WRs to sprinkle in.
Overall, I could see them adding one more WR this year if they view him as an immediate impact player. I think they would also be happy with stopping at 6 and seeing how things fall into place with these kids
