Fairfield Inn - OU Weekend...

Just cancelled a reservation i have had for over five months. The manager said a system error led to "overbooking". My take is that the Marriott website allowed for booking rooms at a regular weekend rate. They seem to eventually realize potential demand and very favorable hotel rates left on the table.

I have the highest status with Marriott and have had for a long time so there is that..... but to wait so long to cancel a reservation after airline & game tickets have been purchased, plans made etc. just blows.

I believe I remember this may have been highlighted in another thread, so maybe this is SOP for this hotel.

Fairfields generally suck anyway but a room is a room for the biggest weekend in COMO.

Chaos Assistance Required

Just logged on today to see the site I’ve been with for over 23 years going away, or kind of sort of.

So, do we sign up for 247 now or wait? Who TF is running Rivals and why if there any reason to believe we will be getting local coverage and not just nat’l recruiting coverage, let alone non-recruiting content.

And is the 10 thoughts really coming out tonight?…

I’m lost.

Ideas for Gabe on his last day

1. You gotta make a bunch of crazy Future Casts
2. Invite back VP and #s for going away thread
3. Take a Hammer to a car window (Ode to Freeman)
4. Bang the Big Mo Drum
5. Get a tattoo of a recruits name (all the coaches are doing it)
6. Play REM "it's the end of the world as we know it"
7. Crash the servers, that seems to happen on Rivals big days
8. Write a poem for Gates - we all know you love you some Mizzou Bball
9. Make a post about your outfits for your new website
10. Tell everyone what time and channel the game is on Saturday.

BASKETBALL Thoughts on Memphis hoops road trip?

I was planning on driving down from STL to Memphis for the weekend + Monday for the Hoops game.
Never been to Memphis as an adult, done the Beale street experience, etc.

We have been hearing that downtown Memphis is so rough that it's not even worth going anymore.
Is that the truth or just a few people that had a bad experience?
I sure parts of it are rough & dangerous, but that's not unlike most other cities.

We were just planning on sticking to the arena and the main touristy areas anyways.
Anybody have any recent experiences there?
