Drinkwitz on with Barrett Sallee today

Just caught the last couple minutes. Barrett asked him about changing the calendar and Drink hit it out of the park: "At the end of the day, they pay me a lot of money. I don't even consider it a job what I do. It beats having a real job...They pay us way too much money to complain. Whatever they decide, I'll do it, and if it becomes too much work I'll try to become a cohost on your show"

My thoughts on the season

We're 4-0, ranked 11 and folks are complaining. I really don't understand why. We knew Brady wasn't a 1st round draft choice. We knew the O-line were replacing the whole blind side of our QB. We knew we were replacing 3 NFL players in our secondary. We knew we were going to have a first year placekicker. We know Drink struggles with time management at times. Yet, here we are, undefeated and still in total control of our destiny.

What this team is trying to do isn't going to be easy. Sure we're in the top 11, but in my opinion we don't have top 11 talent. Outside of Luther, who else on our team can you say without a doubt would start for every other team in the SEC? Once we realize we still don't have a team full of upper echelon players, then we should be satisfied with getting the W's by any means necessary.

FOOTBALL Brett Favre with Parkinson's Disease

Testifying to U.S. Congress on Tuesday, Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre revealed that he's recently been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, an incurable degenerative disorder.
The former Green Bay Packers star, 54, appeared before the House Ways and Means Committee as part of an ongoing investigation into the potential misuse of taxpayer money when he disclosed his medical condition.
"Sadly, I ... lost an investment in a company that I believed was developing a breakthrough concussion drug I thought would help others," Favre said, per NBC News, "and I'm sure you'll understand why it's too late for me because I've recently been diagnosed with Parkinson's."
One of the most accomplished quarterbacks in NFL history, Favre has been accused of using personal connections to wrongly help redirect public money dedicated to Mississippi welfare funds toward himself and his alma mater, the University of Southern Mississippi. He spoke specifically on Tuesday about Prevacus, the company he believed to be developing a concussion drug, which received $2 million of the welfare funds, according to ESPN. The company's founder, Jacob VanLandingham, pleaded guilty to wire fraud in July, per ESPN, admitting he misused money to pay off gambling debts.

Parkinson's disease is a disorder of the nervous system that worsens over time, as the Mayo Clinic explains. Tremors, movement difficulties and speech changes are some of the typical symptoms.

Hypothetical Scenario if we lose to Vandy

In theory if a college kicker makes a 31 yard chip shot, and we end up losing a 2pt conversion contest (it’s a travesty that this is a real rule now). #1 Where are we ranked in the poll this week? #2 What would our path be the CFP? Obviously winning out gets you in and potentially even the SECCG since Vandy isn’t the worst team to have a head to head tiebreaker with, but does losing to Bama and winning out get you in? Really shows how much this is a game of inches for good and bad teams.

Redzone Offense

Why haven't we seen any 1v1 corner end zone balls to Wease or Manning yet? I cannot even recall us attempting a pass like that. Or what about getting Norfleet involved in the red zone?

Also - love Mookie. I think he serves a really good purpose on this team. But do we really need him in our red zone offense? He's undersized. How many redzone catches has he had in his career at Mizzou? I'd rather see Manning & Wease on opposite sides. With Luther getting doubled and same with Norfleet.

BASKETBALL RECRUITING Staff tidbit

I found out yesterday that Ryan Sharbaugh is the lead recruiter for Keiner Asprilla. I'd noticed Sharbaugh was popping up in tweets like "Mizzou was in for School X today" but hadn't realized the NCAA made this rule change. But it sounds like Sharbaugh and Matt Cline will be more involved on the recruiting front now.
