Jackson McGohan TE Decommits from Cinci, Opens Recruiting

This is the kid that grew up in Weston and St. Joe. His first wish was to play for Missouri. They never offered him. He was wearing an MU sweatshirt in HS when Cincinnati visited. (I gave it to him and his mom sent me the picture.) He had committed to Cincinnati until Fickell announced he was leaving. Jackson re-opened his recruitment in the last 24 hours. Pitt, LSU, Washington, Wisconsin & Illinois contacted him today. LSU is flying his dad and him to Louisiana tomorrow. Look him up. More importantly, if anyone knows Drink well, contact in the next 14 hours might give MU a chance. His family moved to OHIO 3 years ago. He still has family in KC & St. Joe. Great family! Great kid! Graduates from HS early with college credits and will start college early.

Recruiting Visits

Obviously we play KU this weekend in what will be a great atmosphere. From a football perspective do you think Drink tries to get his main targets on campus and at the game? I would think even if they didn’t follow college basketball much getting them in an environment like that would work in our favor but, maybe it truly doesn’t matter. They are coming to play football not basketball. Players at Georgia could care less how their basketball program does I’m sure. What do you guys think?

FOOTBALL RECRUITING Transfer QBs

I attended the game in 2012 when Denmon went into hero mode for the final 2 minutes of regulation. Some great last-minute shots have been made against ku over the years and I am interested in who you think becomes the next legend on Saturday.

Unfortunately, I can't make it to the game this time. I am selling two tickets and would love for the tickets to go to a PowerMizzou member. Sec 113 row 16 2 seats. DM me if you are interested.

Recruiting rankings

Right now we're #35 in the rivals recruiting rankings. But, we only have 16 commits. Pretty much everybody ahead of us has more commits than us. If we added four 5.5 three stars to get to 20 commits (the number that rivals counts) we'd get to #25. If we filled out our class with four more 5.7s, which has been about around our average for the class, we'd be ranked #20.

But this year the portal is going to count towards the rankings. If you look around, there are a ton of very highly ranked dudes in the portal right now. Last year Drink did an excellent job of recruiting the portal, other than at the quarterback position.

If we can pull in 5 or 6 really good recruits from the portal, I think this class could maybe make its way into the top 20 for the third year in a row.

Mizzou ducked KU due to $, greed

They wanted all the hype and ticket revenue for themselves when we play in 2025 in Columbia. Not some random bowl city.
The kentucky basketball game excuse was just spin.
