Since 1958, Mizzou has had three Top 5 finishes. There were 17 other Mizzou teams that finished the season ranked.
That's 2/3 of the time finishing the season unranked since 1958.
If you take out the Devine years, Mizzou has finished unranked 75% of the time.
Devine and Pinkel have been the only successful coaches, IMO. Now we are in the extremely elite and deep SEC.
We need someone who has been a coordinator for a national title winner and then a proven winning head coach somewhere. Someone who has seen how it is done at an SEC elite school and then has proven he can build and run his own program.
Not sure who that is or if we could get him if he exists. . . .
