They certainly are capable, but they just weren’t consistent. They finished 6-6 but half their wins were against Boise State (a blowout), Texas, and West Virginia. All are impressive wins. That said, they followed each of those wins wirh losses to Texas Tech (a blowout), Baylor, and TCU.
The Cowboys ranked 93rd in penalties per game, with 6.8. For reference we ended up 103rd with 7.3 a game.
Oklahoma State has trouble hanging onto the ball, finishing tied for 112th in turnover margin (-8). Mizzou was tied for 69th, with an even margin for the year.
Looking at it from a Mizzou perspective, I’d like to think those three impressive wins are enough to get our players’ attention. That said, a clean game would go a LONG way in getting to that ninth win.
