I'm not saying this because I believe he's earned it. However, inserting him into the starting role with Kash at the point is what makes the most sense for the team. Even if he's subbed out quickly at the 17 minute mark.

My reasoning:

1. It will allow him to get quickly acclimated to the game. Instead of sitting and watching anxiously. The dude hasn't came off the bench in his life. Obviously, guys aren't flying around at 100% intensity the first few trips down the floor either. He can get a feel for the pace and break a sweat. He can ease into the game instead of being inserted when it's more contested.

2. The Jontay and Geist tandem off the bench was working. They almost always come in as a pair and insert energy and cohesion when they do. Obviously, Mike is uber talented. But, I think it's apparent he's not a real "energy" guy right now. I think a lot of the offensive uncertainty from the GA game came from this.

I'm not saying he should start and play 35 minutes or anything. He lacks bounce. Just saying that Jontay and Geist off the bench was a strength of the team. That is their role at this point.

Just my thoughts. Might not mean much in the end.
