I had to put my beloved lab mix down this morning. 
It more than took the joy out of NSD for me. He was just over 11 years old, and I had him for just over 10 of those years. He was a good ol' boy with a big heart, knew no fear and was smart as a whip. He loved the outdoors; chased cats, squirrels, deer and pretty much anything else that wandered into the yard. We spent many hours on the sofa watching football games, and a few basketball games. There will be a big hole in our hearts for quite awhile to come. [I don't mean to diminish the more serious losses others have shared on this board, but it's my story for the day.]
