I mention this because I think this is a classic example of referees becoming too involved in a game. Referees are there to moderate, not influence the outcome. I have no idea from what conference that crew originated, but it felt like they were not accustomed to physical, power 5 play. I could be wrong.
Rarely do I "blame the refs," and I don't think it was the refs fault for Mizzou's loss. I do, however, think detracted from what could have been an even better game than it was.
