Brief thoughts...
1. Alabama didn't look particularly interested in playing today. But whatever, the game was still scheduled. They've been held under 70 3x this season. The previous low was 67. Today they netted 50. But credit to Mizzou as well, most of their possessions were well defended.
2. Two things changed from the first 30 or so minutes. Their long range shooting shifted from 0-12 and finished 5-7. Until marks last 3 three's, 8 of Mizzou's last 16 scoring possessions came on transition opportunities. In a string of 9 possessions, they went 9-13 from the line. I guess you could add a third, in the first 20 minutes they turned it over 12 times. In the second half, 3 times (discounting the gesture by Dru).
3. It's really as simple as making shots. When Mizzou can make open looks, they're a formidable opponent. They haven't done it nearly enough. Addressing that in the off-season is Paramount.
4. Looks like we're locked in to either the 10 or 11 next week.
5. Props to Reed. I was never a believer during his recruitment. He turned in what will go down as a solid reserve career. Credit to him for becoming a player. Stuck through some up and down years. I believe he is now the third 4 year graduate at Mizzou since the class slated to graduate in 2012 (Bowers not til 13 due to injury). Same number as the coaches we've had during that time. That is exhibit #1 as to why Mizzou has found not positive consistency. Anyway, best of luck to him in the future after another half dozen games or so.
