1. Nothing good for Mizzou happens in Starkville. Ever.

2. First half:

3. Second half:

4. Winning on the road is tough. I wasn't real optimistic about this matchup coming in for various reasons. The most of which (see #1.). But you must give 40 minutes of consistent effort and execution. Mizzou did not do that tonight.

5. Breaking down the second half could go on for days...the primary factors.

A. Mizzou did not defend. 51 points allowed in 31 possessions. That's 1.64 per possession. That figure is ABSURD. Whatever shot MSU wanted, they got...and made. No resistance whatsoever. Just an inexcusable performance. Hold them to what they had in the first half? Mizzou wins. They didn't, and got dusted.

B. The offense was poor. 6 turnovers isn't great, but it's not enough to kill you. The big difference? In the first half, Mizzou was 11-16 at the rim plus 4-4 at line. Second half? 7-12, 0 ft. 26 Vs 14.

C. Rebound? 32-18 deficit on the game. In fairness, when the opposition only misses 26 times, opportunities are limited. 8 offensive allowed is really bad.

D. Play defense and attack the rim? Put up a fight on the glass? You cruise to a 10 point win. Mizzou did neither. In fact in the former, they did nothing resembling it.

E. Some credit goes to MSU. Not a great team, but is one of those teams that are dangerous if you don't put them away. Mizzou didn't, and they got burned.

Writeup could go on for days, but most won't want to read it and I don't want to write it. Very frustrating when you see such a violent swing in the same game. It happens, but it does because it shouldn't.

Back at it Saturday. Lot of goals still on the table. Tigers bounced back well after their last lost. They're gonna have to do it again.
