FOOTBALL RECRUITING Josh Manning AR Recruiting Story

Was told by someone who knows Manning well that when he visited Arky his host players were packing guns and smoking weed the whole time. Obviously he didn't pick the hogs. It was a major turn off for the kid. If that really happened when he was down there that's pretty amazing, scary, sad etc.....all at the same time. I'm stressing this did not come from Manning or any of his family, just someone who knows him.

OFF TOPIC RIP-Tim McCarver

Another player many of us grew up watching passed away today, Tim McCarver. Many knew him as a long time analyst but he was a big part of the Cardinals' teams that went to 3 WS in the 1960s. Appeared in the majors at 17.

Great story teller. My favorite was Gibson was getting hit pretty hard one inning and McCarver started out to the mound to talk to Gibson. Gibson looked up and saw him coming and told him to get back behind the plate because the only thing he (Mccarver) knew about pitching was that he had a hard time hitting it.

As noted in The Chamber, Pang is definitely a player to watch for Mizzou. I saw him play in person at the Tournament of Champions and wrote about it here. According to NYCHoops.net, Missouri was there to see him, too. Jonathan Givony noted in the next tweet that the "inclusion of NBA draft-eligible players this year should lead to a big turnout of NBA execs in SLC," meaning Pang should get some good exposure.

OFF TOPIC NBC Sports' Chris Simms: The Big 12 STINKS

I mean, I do agree, but I'm not sure his Longhorns will fair much better here. This was from a radio row interview that we did with Chris and I will say that his Pro Football Talk show with Mike Florio is quite enjoyable and Chris himself is a good dude.

Chiefs parade

Decided to be the cool parent and surprise the kids in the morning by going to the parade. Anyone here with any insight to share on how it can be the best experience for my 9 year old son and 7 year old daughter? Is 10-10:30 too late to get a decent spot somewhere along the route?
