FOOTBALL Carrington Harrison

Not sure of your user name, but there’s no way you aren’t a PowerMizzou member.

Now here’s the deal Carrington. As a Mizzou fan in the kc media you have to be better.

Carrington, you simply can’t run with a bogus hit piece against Mizzou without any proof of it being true.

Let fat ass, blowhard Soren Petro do that dog and pony show. You have to be better.

By the way, are you going to have that hack Brett McMurphy back on your show and ask him some real questions this time.

Or, have you just conformed to the kc drive by media when it comes to taking shots at Mizzou, then never correcting the record.

Man up and own this one!

Carrington, one more thing to ask Brett McMurphy.

Why aren’t we playing East Carolina? That was more of the hoax he played you for.

BASKETBALL Seeing Value in Dickey Nutt

I'll admit that I wasn't enthusiastic about the hire of Dickey Nutt as I mainly focused on his nondescript head coaching record. However, I saw another side to him in an excellent piece written by Dave Matter of STLToday.

First, I can see why Leonard Hamilton is revered by his coaching mentees. He thinks about the extra details necessary in growing a coach. Seeing that Nutt took a special interest in Gates and preaching accountability to him as a young coach was greatly appreciated by Gates. It reminds me in my job the role we play in nurturing our young workers to help them flourish in an organization.

The other aspect that I love is how Nutt is sharing sign language with the team. That's such a valuable tool in communicating that will make it harder for opponents to know what Mizzou is doing offensively and defensively. It's great to see how they use it to bond and create a stronger culture.

I must admit that Gates' methods are foreign to me as his player-centered approach is not something that I truly understood or experienced in college. However, I'm coming around in seeing that this might work. Still observing, rather than judging. Looking forward to tomorrow's game to see how they bounce back from a tough loss.

So let me see if I got this right....

Mizzou won 4 of their last 6 games and decided they wanted to duck playing Kansas in the Liberty Bowl.

Stellar reporting no doubt.

Really, ku went 1 for 5 in their last six games giving up an average of 47ppg in their losses.

Their coach has won an incredible 8 games out of 24 played and so far is 4-14 in their conference.

The Liberty Bowl was fortunate to get any University to go against such a fierce opponent!

FOOTBALL RECRUITING Interesting law proposed in South Carolina

Interesting. Wonder if something like this could be proposed in Missouri.

A new bill has been filed in South Carolina that would allow D1 schools generating at least $50 million in athletics revenue per year to pay football and men’s and women’s basketball players stipends based on the time spent on their sport.
