Gholston is the greatest MIZZOU 'slop bucket' maker ever, per my 8yo

I have never heard the term before. But I think it fits. Maybe its an original.

'If we have to take a random shot, Gholston is the best at slop buckets.' (This was before the end.)

We finally watched the game this morning, did not know the outcome. The 8yo was dancing around: slop bucket, slop bucket, Gholston is Mr. Slop Bucket. Slop bucket for the win!!!!!!

New SEC vs old Big 12 basketball comparison

Trying to think of how the new SEC will compare to the old Big 12, which honestly was a pretty great basketball league

Obviously

Mizzou = Mizzou
Oklahoma = Oklahoma
Texas = Texas
Texas A&M = Texas A&M

As far as the others:

kansas is pretty obviously Kentucky. Two blue bloods that wear blue and start with a k. Kentucky is actually better, historically, though.

Oklahoma State I’d say is Tennessee. Both wear orange. Both have good basketball traditions but not elite. Both have very strong fanbases and impressive home crowds for conference games.

Kansas State is Arkansas. Decent traditions. Passionate and annoying fanbases. Very tough to win in their arenas.

Iowa State is Vanderbilt. Not a lot of football tradition at these schools but their fans are pretty into basketball and they tend to be pretty competitive.

Texas Tech is LSU. They probably care more about football but they sometimes have very good basketball teams and when they do their fans get into it fairly well.

Baylor is Florida. Not always good but sometimes very, very good, even occasionally win national titles.

Nebraska is Georgia. they aren’t very good at basketball in general so it’s really annoying to lose to them in that sport.

Colorado is South Carolina. Usually pretty bad at basketball with little fan interest. Occasionally they are good but not very often.

Schools I didn’t find a good match for:

Alabama
Auburn
Ole Miss
Mississippi State

Last night’s game

reminds me of a classic we had against Illinois. I believe it was the last game we played at the old Checkerdome. Illinois at the free throw line with a chance to go ahead at the very end of the game. He misses both of them! Seems like his name was Kewann Garris - not sure. And the Antlers got his address and mailed two bricks to him. LOL.

FOOTBALL As a Troy guy...this makes me sad...but Jackson HS is getting a great one!

Ryan Nesbitt, the all-time leader in football coaching victories at Troy Buchanan High, has been announced as the new head coach at Jackson.

Nesbitt is filling the vacancy announced in early January when Brent Eckley left Jackson after 11 seasons and a 102-27 record to become the head football coach at Har-Ber, a school of more than 2,000 students in Springdale, Ark.

New Mizzou signee, DE Jahkai Lang blossomed under Nesbitt's watch,

BASKETBALL Today's Bracketology - Joe Lunardi

This would be pretty damn fun, IYAM.

Lunardi currently has Mizzou as a 10 seed in the Midwest (Des Moines) region, playing 7th seeded Duke and playing the winner of #2 kU and #15 Youngstown St. He has Alabama as the Midwest Region 1 seed.

SEC Wackiness

7 conference games on Sat.....the road team won 6

The lone home win? Georgia upset Kentucky

At this stage of the season, who would have predicted Missouri would have 7 conference wins, AND Vanderbilt would have SIX?

Arkansas got back Nick Smith.....and lost to Miss St, who vaulted into real tournament consideration. With Smith back, Arkansas should improve, but their 3 remaining road games are aTm, Tenn, Alabama

With 6 remaining regular season games, 5 SEC teams are appear to be in the post season, if they don't stub their toes. Arkansas and / or Miss St could get there, but have work to do

But the rest, save virtually winning out, appear to be done....and that includes a preseason fav in Kentucky

Tuesdays game at Auburn is obviously big but on Wed we get

Alabama at Tennessee
Kentucky at Miss St
Arkansas at aTm

All have implications for MU in the SEC race and for post season berths

Great time of year....

Dennis saved my life.

This is purely an apprecation thread for Dennis and Desiree. Everyone please share what the duo has done for your mental health, happiness, etc. Personally, I think I could die tomorrow and have lived a fulfilled life just based on these heavenly 25 games. Dennis or Desiree, if you see this, I love you. *insert lebron meme*
