BASKETBALL The NET

Big win last night. You can’t underestimate how important any road victory is for a team’s tournament prospects.

Mizzou jumped 10 spots in the NET overnight from 58 to 48. Currently 2-5 in Q1 games and 3-0 in Q2 games.

Some things to note:

- Kentucky sits three spots away from Q1 status at 33
- UCF is seven spots away from Q1 status at 57
- Wichita State is two spots away from Q2 status at 137

Rivals transfer tracker

Just looking at rivals's transfer rankings:

A few observations:

1) Most of the highly ranked transfers have already found a home, not many left.

2) Jake Garcia is ranked as a top 25 transfer overall, and the 6th best QB transfer. A four star.

3) Theo Wease is a top 50 transfer overall and the 7th best WR transfer. A four star.

4) Dannis Jackson is also a four star WR and ranked just outside of the top 100 overall as a transfer.

5) Joe Moore is just outside of being a four star and is in the top 150 overall.

6) Trevez Johnson is around #300 and a 5.6 three star.

7) Austin Firestone, Marcellus Johnson, and Sidney Williams were all given generic 5.5 three star ratings.

It sounds like we are going to take 2 or 3 more. Hopefully a center, a running back, and maybe a tight end.

Rivals doesn't have transfer team ratings yet. I think there's enough there to where we're probably top 35. When it's all said and done, combine that with our top 30ish high school class and I think overall we'll probably rank somewhere in the mid to high 20s but we'll see.

Sam Horn and baseball...

Talked to someone much more familiar with Mizzou baseball than I am yesterday. Asked about Horn because I want to be able to put to bed for anyone who does not believe me or has missed the first 935 posts on it the idea that baseball is going to take away from Horn's involvement with spring football and the competition for the starting quarterback job. I was basically told "I know that he knows the guys on the baseball team. I know that he is a part of the program," but he's not involved on the every day basis that the baseball only players are. This person hasn't seen anything to dispute what I've been telling you guys for months which is that Sam Horn is a quarterback, he is here on a football scholarship and football is absolutely priority 1A and anything with baseball will be fit in around or in addition to his football responsibilities.

I know most of you know this. But I'm posting it so that any time anyone asks from now on I can just link this post.

Degenerates SEC games tonight

It doesn't have to be SEC games but there are 4 of them and I like to bet the SEC. Who do you guys like? I already put Florida -16 in a parlay, but I'm not sure who to like in the other games. Tennessee is favored by 16.5 over Georgia, Auburn is favored by -4 against A&M, both of those teams are at home. The last game is Bama -11.5 at home against Miss St.

BASKETBALL Quotes from Isiaih Mosley

We were permitted two questions with Isiaih Mosley after the game. Here's what he had to say.

On what it's been like to be back on the court: It feels good to be back. You know, I kind of missed a lot of games and stuff. But I give a shout-out to the coaching staff, give a shout-out to Columbia, Mo., my teammates, because they've all had my back. So you know, I probably wouldn't be here if my teammates, Columbia and my coaching staff weren't so behind me and wanted me to be so successful. So I give all my success to them.

On the 3-pointers he hit tonight: It feels great because that's kind of one of the things that I feel like I do at a very high level. So you know, it's just a matter of time before everything comes together with my teammates and all that. So it feels good to hit some outside shots, I feel like my legs are starting to get back under me.

What would you like to see from KIRBY MOORE in first 60 days?

Here are a few of my asks.
1. I want to see his energy and connections bringing a stream of quality offensive transfer players specifically TE, RB and OL to visit Columbia.
2. I'd like to see some quality transfer players making commitments.
3. Within the limits of the recruiting calendar, I would like to see him visit and appear with Missouri HS coaches, players and media.

What would you like to see?
