FOOTBALL DEFENSIVE PRESSER W/ D.C. BLAKE BAKER

Baker mentioned that vets were engaged in practice and that he saw development from a lot of the younger players and or players who don't get as much playing time.

He said that for the younger players to play they would have to have add sustained an injury at a position on defense.

He said Isaac Thompson has come a long way in a short period of time. He shouted out DJ Wesolak and Johnny Walker. He said the consistency probably isnt where it needs to be for them to contribute in the games on a heavy basis.

He said getting KAD is huge but he thought Norwood and Marcus Clarke did great. He said that they can increase their packages on defense since he saw that the backup defensive backs showed they could play too.

Baker said that coach Pogue was able to bring Clarke along quick (he didn't rush it but he helped get Clarke acclimated to the team and system). Baker said that Clarke is 100% to where they need him to be.

He said Daylan Carnell was the fourth CB against UF (only 3 scholarship players traveled to UF).

Baker said he didn't know that Clarke would be eligible but he knew Clarke would contribute if he was able to eligible.

Baker said that they did a self eval over the bye week. He said they reviewed fourth downs and he said some of it was poor execution, playcalling or tackling.

He said they've been repping both Vandy QBs, so Mizzou will be prepared for both QBs. He said that Swann is a good player though and that he's impressed with him not turning the ball over.

He said getting Chad Bailey back from a leadership and confidence standpoint that getting Bailey back is very exciting. He noted that Dameon Wilson played great in Bailey's absence.

He said the key to RPOs is trying to change up the looks for the opposing QBs.

He said that he has had to remind the defense to control the controllable (translation: not getting mad about losing despite the defense holding up). Baker said it hasn't been finger-pointing but that he doesn't want them to start pressing and trying to do too much and basically overcompensate for the offense's struggle.

He said that they have good skill position players especially the RB and #16 and #14.

Next up is Chad Bailey.

He said he was a little frustrated not playing but he was happy seeing how Wilson played in his absence.

Bailey wanted to try and bring energy and help correct the linebackers when he saw mistakes on the sideline.

He said he doesn't feel 100% but he feels pretty good.

Next up is Marcus Clarke.

Clarke said that he was optimistic that he would be eligible and that he has known Baker for a long time who recruited him to Miami.

He loves the scheme and that everyone has the opportunity to have a great game.

He said Baker was one of the first people to hit him up once he hit the transfer portal.

Clarke said that he had nerves trying to make a quick decision to transfer and that he had to trust the people he knew (Baker) since so many people are recruiting transfers to their schools.

Clarke said Tuesday was the coldest practice he's had. He said everything has felt natural but the biggest adjustment is the weather.

Clarke said that it was hectic at first when he first got here. He said that he knew Jaylon Carlies from high school and that him, Joseph Charleston and Ty'Ron Hopper have all helped his transition.

He said the team took him in quickly and he doesn't feel out of place.

Next up is Ennis Rakestraw.

Ennis said that Marcus is a competitor and that he's energetic. He said that it was eye-opening to see that Clarke could play when they only had three CBs in week 6.

He said it was a big deal to have KAD back and that he had to step up and be in that big brother role when KAD was out.

Ennis said that he didn't feel extra pressure and that he's prepared for this since his injury. He knows people would target him since KAD is possibly a draft prospect and because he's coming off of a knee injury.

He said that Vandy's #14 is good at high pointing the ball and that #16 is a fast receiver.

Ennis said that he's satisfied with some parts that he's doing but he needs to get better at other things.

He said the morale is just knowing that they know they are "one play away." He said they are working on the little things. He said that defensively they can force more turnovers and notes how he dropped an INT vs. UF. So, they want to help the defense as much as they can.

  • Poll
What’s going to hurt worse (End of March)

Which will we look back on that made a could be enjoyable season less enjoyable?

  • Not landing a 6’8” or taller “big”

    Votes: 40 22.2%
  • Not landing a transfer QB that could start in 2022

    Votes: 140 77.8%

Basically my poll comes down to do you think the lack of a big will hinder us from being a “good” college basketball team more so than that what getting a transfer QB caused us to not be a 7-5/8-4 football team.

Biden's "strong as hell" economy disaster for 401ks

While chomping an ice cream cone in Portland, Dementia Joe claimed the economy was in great shape, "strong as hell" It was an absurd "let them eat cake" moment.

Well unless you eat, use gasoline or buy anything else, or had a retirement plan .

This Biden economy has caused about a 25% loss in average accounts. The stock market and bond market were both hit hard by Biden's inflation. So average retirement savings of about 130k took a 34,000 haircut in his strong as hell economy. Red wave coming.

Maybe woke trannys is not what armed forces needed most.

And they wonder why we have trouble recruiting? Between hunt for maga types in the ranks, crt indoctrination, promoting this transgender traitor, botching Afghanistan withdrawal, it’s a fricken clown show at the top.
